But if it ever were the case where I wanted totally uncompressed audio and video, I'd just play the disc in my BR player (which, since Plex, largely gathers dust, but I do have it).Īlso, one thing I did to conserve physical space is I bought the paper CD sleeves off amazon, and I put all the discs in those, and then sent the cases off to a recycler, and then put the liner in standard carboard recycling. I would only ever have to re-rip everything if I wanted the HD audio, because when I rip, I only rip the lossy audio (usually DTS or DD), to save on space, though very little space is saved by doing this. Yes, it's stupid for network storage (I have a NAS with five 10TB drives in it), but in case you ever get a bigger screen, you won't have to re-rip and re-encode.
